Sailingcharterworld and its mission Where do you want to sail?
10 years at Sea

2009 marks SCW's 10th anniversary of life at sea. We started in Alaska, when a couple from New Zealand came aboard Cadeau to explore the majestic coast and the whales between Juneau and Sitka. Then Cadeau continued to Patagonia, Brazil, the Caribbean and finally in the Mediterranean. Now the team of Ag charters vessels in every corner of the Planet, offering the main asset a sailor can offer: Local Knowledge

Our Mission

We firmly believe that a yacht charter agency must create added value by providing local knowledge. This can be achieved only through familiarity with the destinations, experience in sailing, knowledge of the vessels and their crews, and passion for the sea and its culture. On top of this, we decided to put even more energy in other features, such as food, wine and art to improve the quality of our offer, and this decision came after years of serving clients in their crewed charters or their search for a bareboat.
Contrary to many agencies, our expertise came from 10 years of sailing and chartering in such diverse places as Alaska and Croatia, Patagonia and Provence, Caribbean and Sardinia. We provide professional consulting, solve problems, match your requests, organize gourmet and wine tasting cruises, share our long experience, spread our modest maritime culture, speak many languages, test the itineraries, simplify payments, manage yachts and read the contracts for you. And we charge you nothing for it. Every journey we organize is tailored upon our guests' requirements, so please contact us to request your private itinerary. All our voyages leave a very low carbon footprint. Please browse around our special pages

Our references

We are mariners first. We firmly believe that only professionals who sailed the Sea and experienced  its multiple shades, and who actively took people out at sea have the right and the capacity to give advice to others who wants to sail or charter a boat. Therefore we provide references by people who sailed with us, and not simply used our services as brokers.
Here follows a short list of guests who sailed our own boats and their place of residence. In case you wish we can provide you their e.mail address for contact and reference.

Our specialties

... The Perfect Cruise Policy
. The perfect boat. It's impossible to find a bareboat or a crewed boat from a database: to each his own boat. We prefer to understand one's own desires and write, chat and call until we can find the perfect boat. There is no alternative to this.
. Sailing directions and sailing consultancy. Once the client chooses a boat, together with our skippers we provide a series of sailing directions and practical informations about the desired cruising ground, from the presence of a dangerous rock to the location of the best fishmonger.
. Continuos update of our website with sailing directions and new boats.
... Mediterranean
We are European to the bone. We want to transmit our passion for our Sea and we do our best to do so. We believe in our art, our culture, our heritage and our gastronomy. No other expanse of water can offer the same incredible variety and outstanding quality.
...Culture
We are the only charter brokerage firm trying to promote and made known as much maritime culture as we can: men, books, stories, pictures, lighthouses, tales and maritime related topics find an ever growing space in our website and as incentives to introduce new ideas and services.
... Gourmet and Galley Master Courses
. Ships are all right... it's the men in them.... Crewed charters are valued mainly upon the quality of food. That is why we decided to invest on it, up to the point of organizing a professional 'Galley Master' for anyone willing to combine the pleasure of gastronomy to the techniques of cooking aboard.
... Classic Vessels
We decided to represent and promote the style and class of real sailing. We charter Sparkman and Stephens Swans (44, 55, 47 and 65) and other fine designs.
... Low Carbon Footprint
Armstrong Global charters and brokers sailboats only. A sailboat with an auxiliary engine is one of the most efficient and eco-friendly means of transport available today
... High Latitudes
Be it for a cruise in Antarctica, Alaska or Patagonia, we provide local knowledge of skipper and boats. Moreover, we offer heavy weather courses in the Mediterranean to share our experiences in these places.

Our crew

Marco
Italian expat, MBA, 40, sailed the equivalent of two round the world voyages. He still believes that the poetry of small european havens can be found in other continents, and he keeps searching for them anywhere. His dream has been deluded so far, so he is now back in the Med, the only cruising destination where he can be 5 minutes from a decent piece of cheese and glass of wine. He suffered from the TMT syndrome and sailed for years among icebergs and seals. But now he is back among the humans and prefers warmer waters and more frequented places. He should definitely buy new bibs...
